About this position
The University of Warsaw’s MAB QLAB Centre is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral researcher (Young Doctor / research employment group) for Group 1: Quantum-secure communication. The position is part of the Center for Hybrid Quantum-Classical Information Technologies (QLAB), a joint initiative with Sorbonne Université, and is funded through the International Research Agendas (MAB) scheme under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 (FENG) programme.
The selected researcher will contribute to work on security proofs for quantum communication protocols, hybrid solutions combining quantum and post-quantum cryptography, quantum networks, and their integration with critical infrastructure. The broader QLAB programme spans quantum-secure communication, photonic information processing, quantum imaging and metrology, and quantum computation and AI.
This is a research position at the University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland, with no teaching duties. The contract is full-time, up to 36 months in total, and aligned with the project period ending 31 December 2029. The gross salary is 12,500–13,500 PLN, with final terms agreed at the offer stage. The role also includes a start-up package covering travel, conferences, and computational resources, plus mobility opportunities with QLAB partners.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in physics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, and have up to five years of research and development experience since the award of the doctorate. The post requires research experience in at least one relevant area such as quantum information theory, quantum cryptography, quantum communication/networks, post-quantum cryptography, or photonic quantum technologies, as well as a strong publication record, English proficiency at B2 level or above, and practical programming/software skills.
