About this position

The Structural Xploration Lab at EPFL is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join its work on building technology, with a strong focus on the characterization and circular performance assessment of building envelopes in Europe.

The project spans multiple scales, from construction details and building archetypes to the large-scale inference of building stocks. It is embedded in a EU-Horizon project and carried out in collaboration with foreign industrial and research partners.

The successful candidate will work in the Structural Xploration Lab, a group of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in architecture and civil engineering. The lab develops tools, design methods, large-scale analyses and built prototypes aimed at supporting more circular load-bearing systems in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector.

Based at EPFL’s ENAC faculty and located in the Smart Living Lab in Fribourg, the lab offers a research environment connected to teaching and to broader work on building technologies and circular practices in architecture and civil engineering.
