About this position
Halmstad University is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in Cultural Studies within the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHS). The post is part of a broader initiative with Carl Bennet AB to strengthen the role and societal impact of the humanities and to create career opportunities for early-career researchers.
The position is linked to the Department of Humanities and Society and the university’s interdisciplinary research environment. The advert highlights a research profile shaped by learning, digitalisation and social change, alongside the university’s innovation-oriented setting and its active collaboration with industry and the public sector. The role is connected to the bachelor programme Criminology and Culture, and to teaching and scholarly activity in history and cultural studies.
The postdoc is designed as a research-focused appointment with teaching responsibilities and mentorship from senior colleagues. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to research production, publications, seminars, supervision, collaboration, and joint research applications, while also engaging with the academic environment at the university in person.
The university describes the post as one of three postdoctoral positions in the wider initiative, with this opening being one of two additional posts to start in late 2026 or January 2027.
