Karolinska Institutet invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in medical education at the division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, part of the department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC). This two-year, full-time postdoctoral position is embedded in Professor Ganesh Acharya’s research group. The role focuses on advancing medical education through evidence-based pedagogical methods, simulation-based learning, and clinical education. The research aims to enhance both clinical and non-clinical competencies among healthcare professionals, including doctors, midwives, nurses, and other practitioners. Key areas of focus include student health, safety and wellbeing, cyber security in medical education and clinical practice, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities include planning, designing, and conducting research projects in medical education, evaluating new teaching and learning methods, participating in teaching activities, writing research proposals, applying for external funding, publishing scientific articles, and presenting findings at conferences. The position offers a creative and inspiring environment with access to a wide range of expertise and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Applicants must have a PhD in technology or medicine (or equivalent), with completion within the last three years preferred. Required skills include data analysis and modelling (R), machine learning and Python coding, image and video analysis using AI, development of digital and online learning tools, teaching and facilitating student learning, curriculum development, and competency-based training. Meritorious qualifications include an MD or midwifery degree with a Swedish license, grant writing experience, prior funding awards, and relevant publications. Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in Swedish and English.
