About this position
Postdoctoral researcher opportunity in neuroimmunology, immunology, neurology, and medical science at the University of Oxford. The role is within the Inflammatory Neuropathy Research Group at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences and focuses on the immunology of Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN).
This is a 3-year translational research programme funded by the GBS|CIDP Foundation International. The project aims to decode and monitor pathogenic B-cell clones and autoantibodies driving MMN, with the goal of informing next-generation disease-modifying therapies.
Research methods include advanced immunophenotyping, single-cell technologies, B-cell receptor sequencing, antibody cloning and characterisation, human iPSC-derived motor neuron models, and longitudinal immune monitoring.
The successful candidate will work under the joint supervision of Prof Simon Rinaldi and Nicolas Dubuisson. The position has an international structure: 18 months at Oxford focused on identifying and characterising pathogenic B-cell clones, followed by 18 months at UCLouvain in Belgium developing antibody production, characterisation, and therapeutic testing pipelines while remaining employed by Oxford.
Applicants should have a strong background in neurology, immunology, neuroscience, molecular biology, or related biomedical disciplines, and a strong interest in translational research with direct patient relevance.
Deadline: 17 June 2026, 12:00 noon (UK time). Location: Oxford, UK and Brussels, Belgium. Salary: £39,424–£47,779 per annum.
