About this position
Prairie View A&M University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the NRCS-funded project in the Adloc Cooperative Agriculture and Research Center. The role sits within a land-grant university environment focused on teaching, research, and service, and will be based in Prairie View, Texas.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a broad research program centered on environmental stressor mapping, climate-smart production, and eco-hydrologic analysis. The project involves creating stressor maps, establishing a demonstration research testbed on the PVAMU Research farm, and supporting implementation of climate-smart practices on selected farms. The work also includes county- and farm-level analyses of flood, drought, and soil loss, along with field and laboratory experiments to estimate carbon sequestration potential and collect environmental stressor data.
The position combines research, outreach, and collaboration. The researcher will help educate stakeholders, including farmers, on climate-smart resiliency and environmental benefits, while also assisting principal and co-investigators on related experimental and modeling projects. The job emphasizes spatial data analysis, land use and land cover impacts on eco-hydrologic processes, irrigation, and nutrient best management practices for natural resource sustainability.
In addition to core research duties, the postdoctoral researcher will support manuscript development, research reporting, grant writing, and presentations at scientific meetings. The role also includes participation in extension activities, collaboration with other researchers, and support for undergraduate and graduate students.
