About this position
The University of Antwerp is seeking a full-time postdoctoral scholarship holder to work on hydroclimatic extremes under climate change within the Modelling for Sustainability (M4S) team in the Department of Electronics and Information and Communication Technologies, Faculty of Applied Engineering.
The researcher will support existing projects and advance research on the statistical analysis and modelling of hydroclimatic extremes, with particular relevance to compound extreme events. The work may involve climate model simulations, large-scale datasets, extreme value theory, multivariate statistical methods, and dependence modelling. The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research, publish scientific results, develop international research contacts, and contribute to applications of research findings in economic and social contexts.
The role also includes participation in research funding activities, including preparation of grant proposals, supervision and evaluation of PhD students, and a limited range of support tasks related to education or research management. The researcher will join a dynamic and stimulating environment at Campus Groenenborger and contribute to the M4S team’s sustainability-oriented research.
Academic collaboration and position-related inquiries may be directed to Hossein Tabari at the University of Antwerp. The appointment is based in Antwerp, Belgium, and offers an opportunity to further develop through research-related activities, training, and education.
