About this position
Osaka University’s Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Life Science (QIQB) is recruiting a full-time Project Assistant Professor or Project Researcher for the MEXT Q-LEAP Quantum Information Processing Domain Quantum AI Flagship, “Research and Development and Application of Quantum Software through Intelligent Quantum Design.”
Working with project leader Associate Professor Iku Mizuta and in collaboration with Professor Keisuke Fujii’s project, the successful researcher will contribute to interdisciplinary research spanning quantum computing, quantum information theory, condensed matter theory and mathematical physics. The research includes fundamental quantum algorithms for early error-tolerance calculations and error-tolerant quantum computing, as well as applications of quantum computers to the simulation of quantum many-body systems.
QIQB brings together six research groups in quantum computing, quantum information fusion, quantum information devices, quantum communication and security, quantum measurement and sensing, and quantum life science. This environment supports collaboration across quantum research disciplines and encourages researchers to apply expertise from related areas to emerging problems in quantum algorithms and quantum software.
The Project Assistant Professor will combine education and research activities with project reporting, proposal preparation, research-promotion activities, and coordination of research meetings and reporting sessions. The Project Researcher will focus primarily on research, project reporting, and the implementation of research meetings and reporting sessions.
The positions are based at Osaka University’s Toyonaka campus in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, within the Quantum Information and Quantum Life Research Center.
