?? Airway remodeling and fibrosis in the lower respiratory tract are central processes underlying many chronic lung diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
???? ?? This research project will concentrate on the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving tissue remodeling in the airways and identify potential therapeutic targets. The project aims to deepen our understanding of lower airway biology while bridging the gap between basic and clinical research.
The PhD candidate will have the opportunity to:
?? Study the interactions between epithelial cells, fibroblasts, and immune cells during inflammation and tissue remodeling.
?? Utilize advanced methods, including 3D cell cultures, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, western blot, modulation of gene expression, and RNAseq
?? Integrate data from in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo sample studies to better understand translational aspects of airway remodeling research.
?? Explore potential biomarkers and mechanisms that could facilitate early diagnosis and the development of innovative therapeutic strategies.
We seek a motivated and creative PhD candidate eager to contribute to an interdisciplinary scientific environment.
?? Ready for this scientific journey deep into the lungs ??
