About this position
Research Assistant (PhD Student) at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Pure and Applied Mathematics, within the PACMAN project: Personalized antibody-drug conjugates activated by matrix metalloproteinases for solid tumors.
The project, led by Marcin Poręba, PhD, DSc, Prof. of WUST, focuses on developing a new class of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) that can be selectively activated in the solid tumor microenvironment by matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2, MMP-9, MMP-14). The advertised role is a first-stage researcher position under the project, explicitly intended for a PhD student.
The appointed researcher will work on collecting, integrating, cleaning, and exploring biomedical datasets from multiple sources, including clinical, histopathological, and RNA-seq data. The job also includes multivariate analysis, anomaly detection, clustering, and methods such as PCA and DBSCAN, plus support for database design, development, maintenance, and data normalization/standardization procedures.
This is a full-time, temporary position for 12 months, with employment starting on 1 November 2026. The salary is PLN 6,163.00 gross per month plus an additional thirteenth salary payment.
Eligibility highlights include a master’s degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, enrolment in the Doctoral School, programming and data analysis skills in Python and/or R, knowledge of basic biostatistics, and familiarity with dimensionality reduction and clustering techniques.
