About this position

Fully funded PhD in "Advanced optical nano-imaging and nano-spectroscopy of novel semiconductors and quantum materials" in 2D Materials group in Sheffield. Funding available for UK and international students.

Apply here by the deadline 29 January 2025: https://lnkd.in/ej-ppRqp

In this PhD in close association with our industrial collaborator Attocube we will explore novel types of semiconductor devices by probing their properties on the nanoscale with light. We will use new tip-enhanced techniques at the state-of-the-art laboratory at the Near-field Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy Centre in Sheffield allowing to focus light into a spot of 10 nanometres, orders of magnitude below the “diffraction limit” defining the spatial resolution of conventional optical microscopy.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
