The University of Antwerp is offering a full-time doctoral scholarship holder position in Medicinal Chemistry within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences. This PhD opportunity is based at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and is embedded in the Medicinal Chemistry research group (UAMC). The project focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterisation of novel ferroptosis inhibitors as a host-directed therapy approach in the fight against tuberculosis . The doctoral researcher will work toward the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis, publish scientific articles related to the project, and take part in a limited number of teaching and research support tasks. Eligible applicants should hold, or be close to obtaining, a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bio-engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field .
