About this position

The Mobility and Adaptive Systems Research Lab at Université du Québec à Montréal, led by Professor Felix Chenier, is recruiting Master's and PhD students for funded research projects in musculoskeletal modelling, biomechanics, and wheelchair propulsion. The lab develops open-source tools such as Kinetics Toolkit for biomechanical analysis using Python, and collaborates with the OpenSim module to enable batch musculoskeletal optimizations. Current projects include real-time calculation of joint loads during wheelchair propulsion, development of intuitive programming interfaces for musculoskeletal simulations, and dynamic modelling of wheelchair movement in complex environments using advanced simulation platforms. Candidates will work on integrating software tools, analyzing biomechanical data, and developing feedback systems to improve mobility and reduce injury risk.

Applicants should have a strong background in engineering, biomechanics, or computer science, with experience in Python programming and laboratory data collection.
