About this position

Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time, onsite Postdoctoral Associate – Specialist in Cancer Genomics in Houston, Texas, within the Division of Pediatrics.

The researcher will analyze and interpret large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic, chromatin, and single-cell datasets from pediatric leukemia and lymphoma cohorts. Research activities include whole-genome sequencing (WGS), whole-transcriptome sequencing (WTS), DNA methylation, long-read sequencing, ATAC-seq, HiChIP, scRNA-seq, and scATAC-seq.

Key projects involve variant interpretation, structural-variant and fusion analysis, leukemia subtype classification, methylation-aware analysis, allelic phasing, multiomic integration, classifier and risk-model validation, regulatory-state analysis, relapse biology, and integration of clinical covariates with biological evidence. The postdoctoral associate will also help develop, test, document, and implement reproducible WGS/WTS and multiomic workflows with principal investigators and institutional bioinformatics teams.

Responsibilities include preparing data summaries, figures, reports, manuscripts, and presentations; coordinating quality-control reviews; supporting sequencing and methylation analyses; and mentoring students or junior analysts as the laboratory grows.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, chemistry, structural biology, biology, biomedical sciences, or a related quantitative discipline. Relevant experience with R, Linux/HPC, version control, cancer genomics, structural variation, and reproducible computational workflows is preferred.

The advertised salary range is $70,000–$75,000, with compensation typically aligned with NIH-style postdoctoral stipend guidelines. Apply online through the Baylor College of Medicine careers portal for requisition 26445.
