About this position
The MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in observational extragalactic astrophysics. The successful candidate will join the Cosmic Dawn research group led by Professor Anna-Christina Eilers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The project focuses on the formation and evolution of galaxies, quasars, and supermassive black holes in the early universe. The group is involved in multiple JWST General Observer programs, a Large Program on the Chandra Observatory, and additional ground- and space-based observing programs. The research environment also includes institutional access to major facilities such as the 6.5-meter Magellan Telescopes, LIGO, TESS, and the WINTER infrared time-domain telescope.
This position is intended for an early-career researcher with expertise across extragalactic astronomy who wants to contribute to an active observational program spanning space- and ground-based facilities.
