PhD opportunity in DNA repair at stalled replication forks at the Medical Research Council (Cambridge), Laboratory of Molecular Biology in the United Kingdom . The project focuses on DNA repair , replication stress , and the Fanconi Anaemia (FA) pathway , with particular attention to how cells respond to DNA crosslinks and stalled replication forks. The research aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of crosslink repair and the role of the FANCD2-FANCI heterodimer and FA core complex in mai...

The University of Bristol is accepting applications for a funded PhD investigating how free fatty acids regulate beta-coronavirus infection. Co-supervised by Christiane Berger-Schaffitzel, Andrew Davidson, Harriet Mears and Paul Verkade, the project will examine how free fatty acids influence coronavirus infection, replication and evolution. It builds on the discovery of a conserved fatty acid-binding pocket in the coronavirus spike protein. The research combines structural biology, electron cry...

About this position

Harry Low’s Lab at Imperial College London is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the structure and mechanism of bacterial secretion systems. The project will use cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and structural biology approaches to understand how these systems function at the molecular level.

The work sits at the intersection of bacterial pathogenesis, membrane remodelling and antibiotic discovery. By characterising secretion machinery and its mechanisms, the project aims to advance understanding of bacterial infection biology and identify knowledge relevant to antimicrobial research.

The successful researcher will join Harry Low’s team in London and contribute to an interdisciplinary research environment focused on bacterial pathogenesis, antibiotic discovery, membrane remodelling and cryo-EM-enabled structural biology.

This is a 48-month postdoctoral opportunity at Imperial College London.
