About this position

The postdoctoral researcher will join the Unit of Cardiovascular and Nutritional Epidemiology at the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), Karolinska Institutet, working in a collaborative environment focused on diet, lifestyle, and health.

The project centers on identifying modifiable and biological determinants of dementia and other chronic diseases using large-scale longitudinal cohort resources. The work integrates questionnaire data, genetic information, omics data, biomarker data, and register-based data to explore how risk factors and biological markers relate to disease incidence.

As part of the research group led by Professor Susanna Larsson, the successful candidate will take a leading role across the research pipeline: refining research questions, carrying out literature reviews, managing complex datasets, performing advanced statistical analyses, interpreting results, and preparing manuscripts for publication. The post also involves contributing to data visualization, communication of scientific findings, and active participation in national and international collaborations.

The position is embedded in a research setting that emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing projects using cohort studies and Mendelian randomization approaches. The role is designed for someone who wants to advance existing data resources into publishable research within a leading medical university environment.
