About this position

Forschungszentrum Jülich is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Multiscale Neurodevelopment team within the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine – Brain and Behaviour (INM-7) in Jülich, Germany.

The team investigates how cortical architecture, connectivity and functional dynamics mature across early life. Combining multiscale frameworks with computational modelling, the research aims to improve understanding of cognitive maturation and psychiatric illness. The project brings together computational neuroscience, human neuroanatomy and multimodal brain imaging.

The researcher will generate growth models of human neurodevelopment using supervised and unsupervised learning, optimise models to predict clinical phenotypes and cognitive maturation, and work with structural, diffusion-weighted and functional MRI as well as intracranial EEG. The role also includes developing MRI analysis toolboxes and producing high-quality scientific publications.

The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists, computer scientists and clinicians in an international research environment. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge studies of brain development, cognition and neurodevelopmental processes using both in vivo imaging and post-mortem brain samples.
