About this position
This postdoctoral appointment at Louisiana State University sits within LSUAM ORED - STEM - CAMD - Scientific Group and is based in CAMD Office Building #2. The role is centered on synchrotron-based research and the development and application of research capabilities supported by the Louisiana Light Source.
The researcher will work under the close supervision of an Associate Professor and collaborate with LLS scientists, LSU faculty and students, and external research partners. The project environment is highly interdisciplinary, spanning materials science, condensed matter physics, nanoscience, surface science, and chemical and electronic structure characterization.
Day-to-day research includes conducting experiments, preparing samples, collecting and analyzing data, interpreting findings, and maintaining research records. The position also involves contributing to the development, testing, calibration, alignment, commissioning, and optimization of beam line components, experimental end-stations, ultra-high-vacuum systems, and related instrumentation.
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to contribute to scholarly dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and technical reports, while also supporting collaborative beamline experiments and assisting with research training, grant-related documentation, and project support activities. The role offers exposure to a range of synchrotron-based applications and advanced characterization techniques in a collaborative research setting.
