Ecology Professors and Supervisors in Netherlands

Wageningen University & Research is seeking a PhD candidate to investigate how forest carbon uptake is changing worldwide under climate change and disturbance. The project examines the global carbon sink in forests and its role in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The researcher will combine atmospheric carbon dioxide observations, Earth Observation products, and numerical models to quantify forest carbon balances across continents and time scales ranging from days to decades. The wor...

Radboud University in the Netherlands is offering a PhD position in movement ecology within the Department of Ecology and the Radboud Institute for Biological and Environmental Sciences. The project investigates how climate-driven changes in freshwater availability affect the year-round movements of greater white-fronted geese. The research will combine long-term GPS tracking data from more than 200 geese, remotely sensed environmental datasets and statistical modelling. Key topics include snow ...

Fully funded PhD position in plant–microbe ecology at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), Netherlands, in the Departments of Terrestrial Ecology and Microbial Ecology, in collaboration with the University of San Francisco de Quito. The project focuses on the biogeography of plant-associated fungi on the Galápagos Islands , with research themes including fungal diversity, plant–fungal interactions, mycology, and ecosystem ecology. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in mi...
