About this position

The Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Innsbruck (IQOQI-IBK) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position in the Superconducting Quantum Circuits Project Group, led by Professor Gerhard Kirchmair.

The project sits at the intersection of experimental quantum science and superconducting circuit technology. The successful researcher will work on magnetic-field-resilient quantum circuits and use quantum sensing protocols to investigate the properties of strange metals. The role combines experimental design, circuit fabrication and characterization, and measurements on quantum hybrid systems.

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to core laboratory research activities in a world-class and internationally active environment at IQOQI Innsbruck. The position also involves broader group contributions, including supervision of students, support for group administration, participation in conferences and workshops, and preparation of scientific publications.

Research at IQOQI-IBK is described as theoretical and experimental basic research in quantum science, and this opening is embedded in a young and diverse team with strong emphasis on independent research and personal development.
