Call for applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Grant (BIPD) within the project INSECTRAK (2023.15568.PEX) and UIDB/00690/2025 CIMO at the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança , Portugal. The fellowship is hosted at SusTEC-IPB under the scientific supervision of Joana Amaral . The research is centered on molecular biology and aims to support experimental work for the INSECTRAK project, with a particular emphasis on the development of molecular methods for the specific identification of insects in processed foods. Key activities include development of LAMP and lateral flow strip methodologies , real-time PCR for gene expression quantification, data processing and use of bioinformatics tools , support in project development and student supervision, and preparation of scientific articles and dissemination of results. This opportunity is intended for candidates with a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, or a related area . The doctorate must comply with Portuguese recognition rules if obtained abroad, and it must have been awarded within the last 3 years. Applicants must also have relevant training and experience and practical knowledge of DNA analysis , including primer design, LAMP , qPCR , and bioinformatics . The post is a full-time temporary research grant for 6 months , starting on 7 September 2026 , with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum total duration of 30 months . The monthly allowance is €1,901.00 , funded by FCT and supplementary institutional research funding, with personal accident insurance and possible voluntary social security coverage.
